The DAF Network

The connective tissue of
institutional philanthropy

The GiftingNetwork DAF Network is the marketplace that connects institutional DAF sponsors, financial advisors, donors, and nonprofits — on a custodian-agnostic, multi-sided platform built for the way charitable giving actually works. Every sponsor on GiftingNet gains near-automatic access to the network from day one.

How a gift moves

The advisor is the
delivery layer —
not the donor

Like a delivery network where drivers carry the product to the customer, financial advisors are the intermediary between donors and the DAF ecosystem. Donors engage through their advisor. GiftingNetwork is the infrastructure underneath.

👤
Donor decides to give
A client with philanthropic intent — a liquidity event, year-end tax planning, or ongoing charitable commitments — engages their financial advisor.
→ gift instruction flows through the advisor relationship
💼
Financial advisor manages the strategy
The advisor handles the relationship, the asset selection, and the charitable planning strategy — directly within Orion, Envestnet, or their native platform. GiftingNetwork is embedded in their existing workflow.
→ routed through the GiftingNetwork platform
GiftingNetwork processes & routes
The gift is processed, routed, and administered through GiftingNetwork's custodian-agnostic infrastructure — connecting to Fidelity, Schwab, Goldman Sachs Custody, or whichever custodian the sponsor uses.
→ held, invested & administered at the sponsor
🏛️
DAF Sponsor holds and administers
The institutional sponsor — a community foundation, federation, or healthcare foundation — holds the fund, approves grant recommendations, and administers the charitable program under their own brand.
→ grant disbursed to charity upon approval
❤️
Nonprofit receives the grant
The grant reaches a vetted 501(c)(3) — discovered through the Charitable Catalog, recommended by the donor, or directed through a competitive grants program. Impact delivered.
Why the advisor model wins
Advisors already have the client relationship and the trust. GiftingNetwork doesn't displace them — it gives them the charitable planning infrastructure they need to deepen those relationships and retain assets across generational wealth events.
Advisor-first
Sponsor brand stays front and center
Donors see the community foundation's brand, not GiftingNetwork's. The sponsor owns the relationship. GiftingNetwork owns the plumbing. That's by design.
White-labeled
Complex assets handled
Publicly traded securities go directly to the DAF sponsor. Complex non-cash assets — real estate, restricted stock, private equity — are routed through Dechomai Foundation, a specialist complex-gift sponsor. Proceeds flow into the donor's DAF once liquidated.

Charitable Solutions & Planned Giving Interactive
Specialized charitable planning expertise and planned giving tools are available through our partnerships with Charitable Solutions LLC and Planned Giving Interactive — extending the network's capabilities into complex gift planning.

A true marketplace

Three sides, one network —
every relationship connected

Unlike single-sided platforms built for one constituency, the GiftingNetwork DAF Network is a genuine three-sided marketplace. Value flows in every direction.

01 — Sponsors
🏛️
DAF Sponsors
Community foundations, Jewish federations, healthcare foundations, and institutional sponsors who run donor-advised fund programs. The network gives them distribution reach they couldn't build alone.

Custodian-Agnostic Infrastructure

Works with the custodian
you already have

GiftingNetwork's DAF Network is built on a flexible, multi-custodian architecture — not locked to any single custodial relationship. Sponsors work with their preferred custodian, and the network handles the rest.

The custodian-agnostic model means sponsors aren't forced to move assets to qualify for the network. It also means the network can grow with new custodian relationships over time — without disrupting existing sponsors.

For Advisors with Nonprofit Relationships

Introduce a sponsor.
Earn on the AUM.

Advisors who work with community foundations, Jewish federations, healthcare foundations, or other nonprofits considering a DAF or Young PIF program can introduce them directly to GiftingNetwork — and earn on that relationship in two concrete ways.

The opportunity compounds over time. A sponsor with $50M in DAF assets under management generates a meaningful, recurring advisory fee relationship — across the entire fund lineup, not just individual donor accounts.

1
Default investment products in the sponsor's fund setup

As part of onboarding the sponsor to GiftingNetwork, the referring advisor's investment-managed products can be configured as the default investment options presented to the sponsor's development team and donors. Every new donor fund launched at that sponsor defaults to the advisor's managed lineup — without requiring individual donor conversations to establish the relationship.

2
Ongoing advisory fees on sponsor-level AUM

The advisor earns ongoing advisory fees on the AUM flowing through the sponsor's platform — not limited to the donors they personally advise. As the sponsor grows its fund program, the advisor's fee relationship grows with it. The AUM stickiness operates at the institutional level, not the individual account level.
